7th graders will turn in their track uniforms during 3rd period on Wednesday. 8th graders will turn in their track uniforms during 4th period on Thursday.
The meet at Gayville has been cancelled on Thursday. We will be going to Bridgewater-Emery instead. There will also be a pole vault meet in Centerville on Tuesday at 4:30.
There will be a girls basketball meeting for girls 8-12 (2024-25 School year) on May 14th @ 8AM in Mr. King's room. This is to finalize all camp info and dates. Please make sure you plan to attend.
Midwest Elite Basketball registrations are due by next Thursday, May 16th. Please turn in the form and checks to Mr. King. Checks made payable to Irene- Wakonda. Forms are located outside of Mr. Kings room.

The IW HS track team will be competing in the Centerville Invitational on Tuesday, April 9. Javelin is to begin at 11:00 with the rest of the Field Events starting at 12:00. Running events are to start at 1:30.
The IW middle school track team will be competing at the Centerville JH Relays on Monday, April 8. Field Events will begin at 2:30 and Running Events will start at 4:00.
Parents: The hypnotist is coming to SkyZone at 1am instead of 2am so the bus will be in Irene by 3. Gifts will be handed out at that time and the kids should be leaving for home no later than 4am.
There will be no JH track practice tomorrow. If JH kids could be at practice on Friday it would be greatly appreciated. It will help them get ready for the JH meet on Monday. Practice is at noon on Friday.
Reminder: Parents, please go to the SkyZone website and fill out a waiver for your child to attend After Prom. Out of town dates will also need to have parents fill out a waiver. Please have this done ASAP.
USD Dental Hygiene is offering free screenings at the elementary on February 27 & 28. If you are interested fill out the permission slip found on the school website or contact the elementary to have a form sent home.
Track will begin on March 4th after school. If your child has not taken a physical, they will need to do so in order to practice. Forms can be found on the IW website, or ask Mr. King or Mr. M for them.
Due to the incoming weather, the girls and boys games are moved up one hour in Canistota. JV games start at 4:00, with girls varsity starting at 5:15. Bus leaves at 2:30. Students will be dismissed at 2:20.
Due to illness and injuries there will be no JV Boys game tonight. Girls will play 3 quarters starting at 5. We will roll the schedule following the JV girls game.
The theme for tomorrow’s game (2-2-24) will be yellow out for Kobee Sherman. The senior class will be doing a free will donation for the rest of the home games. All proceeds will go to Kobee and his family.
I-W cheer camp is Friday at the HS gym. Start time is 1:30. PreK-1st will perform during the girls' varsity game. 2nd-5th grade will perform during the boys' varsity game. Please wear shorts and PE shoes.
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest will be Feb 4 in Wakonda with registrations tarting at 12:30. Contest begins at 1. Boys and Girls ages 9-14 are eligible.
Irene-Wakonda schools will dismiss at 12:30 today. The Wakonda shuttle will be in Irene at 12:45. The games for tonight have been postponed until a later date.
