Clothing Swap Fundraiser
January 28th will be Irene-Wakonda Student Council's first clothing swap event that will take place in the cafeteria at Irene-Wakonda High School.
This event is part fundraiser, part attempt to get rid of some winter blues with some "retail therapy." This is a free-will donation event and there is no obligation to donate money or provide clothing.
If you would like to donate clothing, we will happily accept gently used clothing items in whatever size you may have available starting today, December 19th.
Due to the nature of donations, we cannot guarantee any items in a specific size.
Currently, there is a small selection of children's and men's clothing with a wide variety of women's clothing to choose from. Pictures and detailed size options will be posted closer to the event date.
For those who are experiencing financial hardship at the moment are welcome to come and take items as they see fit, even if they do not have anything to donate. This event is a no-judgement zone and there is no requirement to prove lack of funds.
Clothes leftover will be sorted into 4 categories;
-
Garbage (absolutely unsalvageable/to be turned into rags)
-
Scraps (to be gifted to the Irene Library for their Arts & Crafts projects)
-
Emergency Back-ups (For students who may need to change at some point during the school day)
-
Donations (Items to be brought to Savers, St Vincent de Paul, Dress for Success, or Center of Hope in Sioux Falls or Civic Center in Vermillion)
